On Feb. 27th, Foreign Affairs Office (F.A.O) held an orientation for the newly arrived international teachers in order to help them quickly adapt to the new living environment and working conditions.
At 2:30pm, the new teachers from Clark University and UTAS were given a campus tour by the staff of F.A.O to have short stops at different places: photocopy room, library, grocery store, cafeteria, sports field, and teaching buildings. These teachers were showed to their own teaching classrooms by the volunteer student assistants, and learned how to run the multimedia in the classrooms. During the meeting with their teaching assistants, the new teachers discussed about the teaching issues and their concerns, which facilitated the teaching practice. In addition, the staff of F.A.O explained in details to the new teachers the teaching rules and regulations in SDUST and the services F.A.O can provide. In the whole semester, there are 22 international teachers separately from Clark program, Worcester program and UTAS program. F.A.O, teaching assistants and student assistants will continually give all international teachers the immediate help and support where it is possible.
The orientation activity helped the international teachers familiarize Jinan Campus before the start of spring semester. The new teachers are very satisfied with their well-furnished apartments, thoughtful services and overall support provided by F.A.O.
