Shandong University of Science and Technology organized a five-week English Language Study Tour Program to University of Tasmania, Australia between Jan. 1stand Feb. 7th, 2016. This group had 26 participants from three campuses, led by Mr. Zhao Changqing (Deputy Party Secretary of the Department of Engineering) and Ms. Xu Shujun (International Office).
All students had worked very hard and achieved excellent results. Besides, the Study Tour attended many activities. Prof. Peter Doe from School of Engineering, UTAS showed the students his school labs. While meeting with the students studying at UTAS at present, the participants were informed about language adaptation, academic study, overseas life and given useful suggestions. Through homestay, the participants learnt more about local culture and built good relationship with the families.
Through this Study Tour, the students improved their English language capability, experienced cultural differences and diverse lifestyles, broaden their visions, and strengthened their independence. We believe the Study Tour will benefit the students about their overseas study plans in the near future.
