Wang Junsong Met Delegates from Politecnico di Bari, Italy

On September 16, Professor Vito Iacobellis, Vice Rector of Politecnico di Bari, Italy, and his delegation visited Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST). Wang Junsong, Secretary of the University Party Committee, met with the guests and held talks.

Wang Junsong extended a warm welcome to Professor Vito Iacobellis and his delegation. He introduced the university’s history, disciplinary strengths, talent training programmes and achievements in international education. He remarked that the establishment of the Bari College marks an important milestone in the in-depth cooperation between the two universities. He hoped that, taking the Bari College as the platform, both sides would continue to expand practical cooperation in joint talent training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, collaborative scientific research, as well as faculty and student exchanges. Leveraging their respective disciplinary strengths, the two universities will jointly cultivate more international interdisciplinary talents with integrated Chinese and global perspectives.

Vito Iacobellis expressed his gratitude for the warm reception by SDUST and introduced Politecnico di Bari’s institutional history, disciplinary features and research capacity. He noted that Politecnico di Bari attaches great importance to its partnership with SDUST. The Bari College has built a solid bridge for bilateral cooperation. He looked forward to further deepening collaboration in disciplinary development, teaching and research, and international education to jointly improve the quality of talent cultivation.

Following the talks, both sides exchanged commemorative gifts as a token of the profound friendship between the two universities, wishing the long-term and steady development of their partnership.

Professor Vito Pugliafito, Head of Teaching and International Affairs at Politecnico di Bari, and other members of the Italian delegation attended the discussion. Also present were Shen Yusan, Director of the Party Committee Office (University Office); Yu Wenfang, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; Liang Saijiang, Party Secretary of Jinan Campus; Liu Xikui, Dean of Bari College; and Song Ronghua, Secretary of the Interim Party Branch of Bari College.
