Rooted in the fertile land of Spring City, new dreams take shape in the golden autumn. On September 4–5, the Jinan Campus was decked with colourful flags and banners, and the revamped campus brimmed with a warm welcome atmosphere. The 2026 intake arrived for registration as scheduled, embarking on a brand-new journey of life.
Guo Yiling, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, together with members of the Jinan Campus leadership team and heads of relevant departments, went to the frontline of the orientation work to learn details about the new student registration and extended greetings to the hardworking staff and volunteers. They visited student dormitories and had cordial conversations with freshmen and their parents. He reassured parents that the university would go all out to deliver high-quality talent training and supporting services. He also encouraged the new students to cherish their college years, aim high and study diligently. Guo Yiling also inspected the summer renovation sites including the library, canteen and sports field, and fully recognized the achievements of these renovation projects.
The registration site was well-organized. All departments made thorough arrangements and worked in close coordination. Registration desks and information service points of each school operated efficiently. Staff members provided convenient and thoughtful services to freshmen and their parents with enthusiasm. Volunteers moved around the campus, guiding new students to verify information, complete admission procedures and carry luggage. They patiently answered questions raised by freshmen and parents. Their considerate and heartwarming services made the newly arrived students feel warmly welcomed.
The orientation venue was filled with fun activities. Drawing on their distinctive educational features, each school prepared a rich array of welcome gifts including custom cultural and creative kits and themed T-shirts to offer new students a unique sense of ceremony. Hand-drawn campus maps helped freshmen quickly get familiar with teaching, living and residential areas. At the “Campus Debut · Freeze Youth” photo booth activity set against the new student name wall, special display boards were arranged to capture precious moments as students first joined Shandong University of Science and Technology. The interactive game “Roll the Dice for a New Journey · Roam around SDUST” featured eight themed sections, guiding freshmen to explore the campus in an entertaining way. Challenge games such as The Peacock Flies Southeast, Read the Colour of Chinese Characters and Emoji Quiz were available. Freshmen who completed the challenges received custom “Mountain, Sea and Spring” banknote vouchers. At the signature wall, new students put down their names to leave their youthful marks, embarking on their brand-new college journey with great expectations.
Blending Chinese and Global Insights for a New Chapter, Seize the Prime of Youth to Embrace the Future. The arrival of the 2026 intake has infused the campus with vibrant youthful energy. Moving forward, the campus will solidly organize military training and a series of orientation education programmes to guide all new students to get off to a good start in college life. Rooted in the fertile ground of Sino‑foreign cooperative education at Jinan Campus, they will study diligently, strive for all‑round development and endeavour to write a brilliant chapter of youth.
