The University’s Open Day for Sino-foreign Cooperative Education 2024 of Shandong University of Science and Technology Successfully Held in Ji'nan Campus

Dream of going to Shandong University of Science and Technology, and embrace the future. On Jun. 29^th, the University’s Open Day for Sino-foreign Cooperative Education 2024 of Shandong University of Science and Technology was successfully held in the multi-function hall on the second floor of the Art and Sports building of Ji'nan Campus. The event attracted a lot of students and parents, who gained a firsthand understanding of the features and advantages of the Sino-foreign Cooperative Education, and personally perceived the profound historical background, dense atmosphere of international education, and delicate campus environment. Members from the two committees of Ji'nan Campus Liang Saijiang, Guo Jiashu, Mao Qingdong, Shi Zhou, Liu Xikui and Liu Guodong, principals of relevant departments and colleges of Australian Swinburne University of Technology, principals of relevant departments and units of the campus, and teachers from partner universities attended the event.

On the University’s Open Day, diverse activities such as face-to-face communication with partnership universities, professional introduction, enrollment consultation, and campus visit were arranged. Liu Guodong, Deputy Director of Management Committee and Director of Department of Academic Affairs of the campus extended warm welcome to the massive students and parents in his speech, and introduced the education achievements, development orientation, education philosophy and education characteristics of the campus, as well as the students’ studying abroad and career prospects. Douglas Proctor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Australian Swinburne University of Technology delivered a speech via video. He introduced the basic information of Swinburne University of Technology, and welcomed the students to apply for enrollment. Ms. Vali Ratanavali, Associate Director TNE Partner Relations of Swinburne University of Technology, Ms. Fanny Suhendra, Academic Director, Partnerships, School of Design and Architecture; and Teacher Xu Shanqing from the Engineering School delivered speeches successively. They introduced the general information, professional features, cultivation mode, study and living environment and career prospects of Swinburne University of Technology, presented technological innovation achievements, and interacted with the students and parents on the spot. Fan Mingfang, Deputy Director of Department of Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Yang Jinliang, Director of Department of Communication Engineering, Professor Pu Haitao from Department of Electrical Engineering, and Teacher Niu Xiaodong from Department of Finance of Ji'nan Campus introduced relevant professions respectively. They introduced in detail professional features, teacher resources, course system, talent cultivation, further education and career prospects. Director Liu Guodong and Deputy Directors Zhu Qigang and Fan Mingfang of Department of Academic Affairs answered questions concerned by the students and parents.

The spot atmosphere of the University’s Open Day was very warm, booths about Swinburne College, University of Tasmania cooperative program, University of Worcester cooperative program, and students’ affairs were set for providing enrolment consultation services. The elaborated brochures, promotional display boards and promotional videos fully displayed achievements about Sino-foreign cooperative education, studying and living environment, and special advantages of each profession. Some students and parents also visited places such as the teaching building, library, laboratory, stadium, dormitory and dining-hall, personally perceiving the international studying and living environment.
