On the afternoon of March 11, Rob Wilson, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tasmania, and AEMG Education Group visited the Jinan Campus. Liang Saijiang, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of Jinan Campus (Swinburne College), and Guo Jiashu, Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Jinan Campus (Swinburne College), met with the guests. Leaders of the Jinan Campus (Swinburne College), including Mao Qingdong, Shi Zhou, and Liu Guodong, as well as heads of Department of Student Affairs & Youth League, Department of Academic Affairs & Scientific Research, and International Office, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Guo Jiashu welcomed Rob Wilson and his delegation. He introduced the development of the Jinan campus, shared the gratifying achievements of the campus in the construction of the internationalization education pilot zone, affirmed the fruitful results of the close cooperation between our two universities in the past 16 years, and looked forward to our two universities carrying out more extensive and in-depth substantive cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, academic exchange, and scientific research to build an international education brand with the characteristics of Shandong University of Science and Technology and a certain reputation within and beyond the province. Rob expressed his gratitude for the joint efforts of the three parties during the epidemic to ensure the smooth operation of the project and the construction of the overseas learning center, which provides a solid guarantee for deepening cooperation. He hopes to continue to strengthen our all-round cooperation and continuously improve the quality of the collaborative programs operated by two sides .
During the visit, Rob Wilson had a face-to-face exchange with students from collaborative programs Electrical Engineering & Automation and Communication Engineering. He introduced the general situation of the University of Tasmania, the advantages of its majors and the employment prospects of its graduates, which enriched these students’ understanding and awareness of the University of Tasmania.
